Car Insurance Daihatsu (Car Insurance). Am I already covered under my parents car insurance?

Am I already covered under my parents car insurance? I just bought a car and my parents said they would take care of the insurance so they put my car under there names when I explained I needed to be under it my mom said its too expensive and it fine as long as u have insurance she's wrong right?

She is incorrect - if you are a family member, live in the same household and are NOT included on the policy as a driver, any liability you incur while driving their cars will NOT be covered by insurance. what they probably did is put the car under their insurance and listed you as an authorized driver. what they did will get them a cheaper insurance rate for the car because they have a driving history. if the insurance would be under your name, your rates would be at least 2-3 times more expensive just because of your age, driving experience and history. I don't know if you are 18 yet or not, but you must be 18 to enter into a binding legal contract, so the car at this point and the insurance would need to be under their names if you are still 17 or 16.

Daihatsu . Are valve jobs not a part of regular maintenance anymore?

Are valve jobs not a part of regular maintenance anymore? I have a 98' GMC pickup with a 5.7L and 200k miles. Now with my last truck, which went about 500,000 on one 4.1L engine, when I noticed a puff of blue smoke in cold starts, it meant my valve seals were leaking. Pull the heads, and have them rebuilt. Now with this truck, a puff of blue smoke, and the odd misfire on no. 6, and the shop won't pull the heads. They want me to buy a whole new engine. I have to call BS on that one. Or is everything disposable nowadays? car insurance.

Daihatsu . Car paint job botched?

Car paint job botched? Sent my car to a body shop for repair. It is a certified repair shop for at least six insurance companies but not the one that paid for this job. I got it back and the rear bumper gash looked like it had been bondoed but required additional work, but they chose to paint over it. Also looked like they had painted over debris on the bumper. The hood had air bubbles and bumps. I had paid out of pocket to have the hood done. In replacing the hood, they had chipped the existing paint on one fender and the front grill. The passenger door, which they replaced had black painted trim that hadn't been touched and was largely showing bare metal. The door sill had a wad of either bondo or had been welded that wasn't sanded down. The paint, as a whole, had air bubbles throughout it. On the door, there were large paint bumps coming up. The bottom of the door appears to have been painted over rust. Upon returning it, they reluctantly agreed to repair it and give me a rental car. But, as I mentioned to the assistant manager when he said they'd fix it and buff it all out, that would remove a lot of the clear coat. His reply was that it's clear coated three times. Even if they fix it and make it look right, if they remove much of the clear coat, am I right that the paint job won't last as long? car insurance.

I'm looking for a sport bike..any recommendations? I'm looking to get my first motorcycle. I don't mean the motorcycles like Harley Davidson, I mean the ones that look more sporty...I believe they're called sport bikes, but idk. Anyway, I'm looking for something not that expensive, I don't need a speed demon, I like the bulky look. Just something to get around town with and joy ride a little. And I don't know if this is true or not, but I saw a picture of an ipod hooked into a sport bike so you can listen to music..? Was it a fake picture or can you really plug your ipod in and listen while you ride? That would be awesome. Thanks. car insurance.

Daihatsu . How to Get Rid of Tobacco Odors in Cars

If you've recently stopped smoking, or purchased a vehicle from someone who used to smoke, you know there's a lingering odor left behind by tobacco products. Removing these odors will make the time you spend in the car more pleasant, and prevent those odors from transferring to your hair and clothing.
Difficulty:Moderately Easy
Instructions

Step by Step :
1
Remove the source of the odors. Make sure all of the ashtrays are empty and wash them with hot, soapy water. If they're metal, make sure you dry them immediately after washing them to prevent rust.
2
Open all the doors and the trunk to let fresh air circulate through your car. Not only will this help dispel the tobacco odors, it'll make cleaning the car a bit more pleasant.
3
Empty the car of any removable items. Check under and in between the seats to make sure you're not missing anything that may still have tobacco odors clinging to it, like a package of cigarettes or a discarded cloth.
4
Vacuum the car thoroughly. Use the crevice attachment to get into all the tiny spaces in the vehicle. Vacuum not only the passenger compartment, but also use the attachments to vacuum any cloth panels like the roof and the trunk.
5
Clean the glass and mirrors with a high-quality glass cleaner. If the car has been exposed to a lot of smoke, you'll probably need to do this more than once. Lay a cloth on the dash to protect it before spraying the windshield with glass cleaner. Each time you clean the glass, use a clean cloth.
6
Spritz all the upholstery with a fabric-freshening spray. Make sure the doors are still open and be generous with the spray. Use it on every upholstered area, including doors, ceiling, trunk space, floor carpets and seats. Repeat this process as often as needed.
7
Lay removable rugs on the driveway and squirt a small amount of dish soap on them. Run a garden hose over them until the water runs clear and all the soap is gone. Allow them to thoroughly dry before you return them to the car.

Daihatsu . How to Find the Source of a Bad Odor in a Car

It's been lingering all day and even rolling the windows down doesn't help. Finding hidden odors in a car is a frustrating project filled with lies and denial. Whether you are the target of a prank or just uncouth or hygiene disabled friends, finding the source and eliminating the cause is the highest priority.
Difficulty:Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Step by Step :
1
Identify the kind of odor you are dealing with if possible. Look for hints such as muskiness, rotten eggs or something on the bottom of a shoe. Targeting the kind of odor can eliminate potential causes and let you hone in on the target.
2
Examine yourself before moving to other options. Check shoes, underarms and other potential areas for offensive aromas. Be thorough in your search as accusing others is a sensitive and dangerous course of action.
3
Consider the influence others have on the car if you are traveling with companions. Think back to any fast food stops or breaks where noxious odors could have originated. Attempt to get a whiff of passengers without letting them know. Chances are that if nobody else has complained the culprit is nearby.
4
Make an unannounced stop and let the companions go inside while you sniff each seat in search of the target. Targeting a rest stop may remedy the problem without further action. Make a mental note of any reduction in odor while the others are away.
5
Confront the instigator of your discomfort if you have solid proof of the offender. Clearly state your displeasure and make clear lines of punishment should the offense continue. If detection of multiple offenders is certain, be sure you can back up the punishment, as living with the odor may be a better course of action.

The fuel injection pump's brain is the governor (refer to Figure 7-5), which has a very important job: It controls the exact amount of fuel that's sent from each mini-pump to the nozzles and makes sure that the engine doesn't go so fast that it damages itself with excessive heat and pressure. Some governors are built right into the injection pump; others work off the crankshaft or the pump's timing gear; still others measure the speed of the air coming into the engine. All governors are affected by the pressure of your foot on the accelerator, the temperature in the cylinders, the altitude, the speed of the vehicle, and the load that the vehicle is carrying. At this point, the action moves to the cylinders, where the fuel, air, and "fire" meet. While the preceding steps have been taking place to get the fuel where it needs to go, another process has been running simultaneously to get the air where it needs to be for the final, fiery "power play." 5. 348 Car Insurance 1998 oldsmobile regency 309561

On conventional diesels, the air comes in through an air cleaner that's quite similar to those in ordinary vehicles. However, turbochargers have been developed that ram greater volumes of air into the cylinders and may provide greater power and fuel economy under optimum conditions. A turbocharger can increase the power on a diesel vehicle by 50 percent while lowering its fuel consumption by 20 to 25 percent! (See "Turbocharging" in Chapter 6 for details.) 6. As you've read, turning the key started the glow plugs warming up the air in the cylinders. On many engines, the glow plugs are located right in the combustion chambers of the cylinders. On others, they have been placed in little precombustion chambers (refer to Figure 7-2), which the glow plugs can heat more quickly and easily. 7. From here, combustion spreads from the smaller amount of fuel that's placed under pressure in the precombustion chamber to the fuel and air in the combustion chamber itself. Now take a closer look at each step of the power cycle that converts all this

into power to drive the vehicle. The diesel four-stroke pouter cycle Although some diesel engines operate with two-stroke power cycles, chances are that the vehicles you'll encounter use a four-stroke power cycle, which is comparable to the power cycle of a gasoline engine (see Chapter 6). The following explains how the diesel's four-stroke power cycle works: I f Stroke 1 — Intake stroke (see Figure 7-7): The piston descends, the intake valve opens, and air is drawn into the cylinder. . Chapter 7: Diesels and Alternatively Powered Vehicles Figure 7-7: Intake stroke.

*
Stroke 2 — Compression stroke (see Figure 7-8): The intake and exhaust valves are closed as the piston moves upward and places the air under extreme pressure. As the pressure increases, the air heats up to the flash point (the point at which it causes the fuel to undergo sponta neous combustion). Just before that point is reached, fuel injectors spray fuel into the combustion chambers at the precise instant when ignition is to take place. Figure 7-8: Compression stroke. Stroke 3 — Power stroke (see Figure 7-9): With intake and exhaust valves closed, the fuel ignites, and combustion forces the piston down. This driving power is transmitted through the transmission and the rest of the drive train to the wheels, which causes the vehicle to move.

Figure 7-9: Power stroke. Part II: What Makes It Go? Stroke 4 — Exhaust stroke (see Figure 7-10): The exhaust valve opens as the piston rises and pushes the burned gases out of the cylinder. Figure 7-10: Exhaust stroke. Diesel fuel Diesel engines run on diesel fuel, which is more efficient than gasoline because it contains 10 percent more energy per gallon than gasoline does. It is also safer than gasoline because its vapors don't explode or ignite as easily as gasoline does. Diesel fuel (sometimes called diesel oil) comes in two grades: Diesel #1 and Diesel #2 (or 1-D and 2-D). Just as gasoline is rated by its octane, diesel fuel is rated by its cetane, which indicates how easy it is to ignite and how fast it will burn. (The higher the cetane number, the more volatile the fuel.) Most diesel vehicles use fuel with a rating of 40 to 55. Most diesel automakers specify Diesel #2 for normal driving conditions. Truckers use Diesel #2 to carry heavy loads for long distances at sustained speeds because it's less volatile than #1 and provides greater fuel economy.
